Jill Chism is Co-founder and Director of Oak Beach Dreaming. Jill is a professional artist who works in mixed media, public and environmental art. Jill has had 27 solo exhibitions and over 22 Public Art commissions.
Jill was a recipient of a Creative Fellowship from Arts Queensland in 2007. She launched Waters Edge, Creating Environments. This 3 year environmental art project involved Jill and invited artists visiting a number of sites at the Waters Edge across Queensland.
Jill also launched ‘Call of the Running Tide’ environmental art festival in 2018, for which there have been 3 major showings of environmental sculpture and multimedia in Port Douglas, Mossman and Cairns. Jill lectured at Tropical North Queensland TAFE and at James Cook University in Cairns. She has been ‘Artist in Residence’ for many of the high schools in the Far North. Jill continues to work from her art studio at Oak Beach on public and private commissions across Australia.
